Updating your Xbox One console

We're constantly improving Xbox One. If your console is set up to get automatic updates, we'll update your console when one is available. If not, you'll be prompted to update.

To set your console to automatically receive updates:

1. Double-tap the Xbox button  to open the guide and choose Settings > All settings.
2. Select Power & startup > Power mode & startup.
3. Make sure Power mode is set to Instant-on. Then check Keep my console, games & apps up to date.

If you want to get the update manually:

1. Make sure your console is connected to the Internet, and then open the guide and choose Settings >All settings.
2. Select System > Console info & updates > Update console.

If no update is available, your console is up to date.

To see your console's system version, open the guide and choose Settings > All settings, and then selectSystem > Console info & updates.

To see when it was last updated, choose Latest update status.
